Dubcek and Havel November 1989

Former Leader of Czechoslovakia Alexander Dubcek (centre) with (on right) Vaclav Havel pictured during a joint press conference at the Magic Lantern Theatre Prague during the so called Velvet Revolution. The theatre became a focus of events during the peaceful uprising which led to the fall of communism and the formation of a democratic government. Havel went on to become President of the newly formed Czech Republic.
